Here you go:

The loop is awesome. I rode it with Ken a while back. I'll post some pictures of some of the vista's.

The VMC ride looks fun, I'd seen it on DSBC I think.

Need to buy a BCORMA pass first... So maybe.

The extra cost of a BCORMA pass always seems to be a sore spot with riders entering events. But if we don't support an organized lobby group like this one, pretty soon all our favorite off road areas will be totally closed to motorized use. Look what has happened right here in our own back yard on Vancouver Island thanks to the CRD and TLC. Good intentions that went too far. Remember Harbourview? The KVR is next. Google BCORMA to find out what is being done by this all volunteer group and decide if it is worth supporting.
Thanks.

^^ Indeed, I believe the KVR is closed to motorized vehicles as of...yesterday?

Another van isle member here. Earlier in the week I saw a GS(A?) parked across from my office in downtown Parksville sporting an ADV sticker on a pannier. I recall seeing the same bike a few months ago in the same spot--Mad Bee Cafe. By chance is the owner in this thread?

Thanks.

I do support BCORMA and everything they do. I never even got the chance to ride up Harbourview - I've only been riding for a couple years - But sure do wish we had accesses like that as close as that. I'm just really broke right now, so every penny I spend is thought about. Do I want to do a ride that's going to cost me $90 just to enter, before fuel + food?

(Well, hell yes I do! Doesn't mean it will happen, might end up being a 'next year' thing.)

I think the BCORMA pass is pro rated and it's not bad considering camping and the trails are marked out for you.
Hopefully you can make it

Question any HID lighting experts available?

Hola from Victoria, am now on my second set (complete) of HID headlight kit and AGAIN it isn't working...unable (due to limited knowledge) to discern if issue is bulb or ballast or something else....is there someone out there (on this thread) near me who is able to help me with this?
Have a real fondness for HID's as they do throw a great amount of light but it seems that the Halogen is more reliable...would appreciate it...thank you....

Interested in the Rides

I'm in Shawnigan Lake and would be interested in some rides. Moved up from Victoria and got a GS and I know there's roads out there to ride not far away, but I don't have the local knowledge to find them.

I just got my KLR650 here in Victoria. I moved here last summer and the year round riding motivated me to buy a bike. I'll be using it to get around the city and get me and my kiteboard gear around the island to sail. I'm planning on riding down to La Ventana Baja this winter with my kiteboard gear.

I was hoping to get a tour in to Prudhoe Bay this Sept to get my bike all dialed in with less gear before I hit the road south to Baja.

I've got a blog for my KLR at www.klr650blog.com ...

Are you guys familiar with DSBC? Check it out if not, it's what your seeking. You may even be able to sweet talk Dave into joining the North Island Ride still.
