I'm pretty sure there isn't gas in Renfrew - I had to go back to Sooke to fill up last year.

Sometimes you can get gas at the marina there. Ooops, just checked their web page - open May to October - so no gas.

Are you heading in from Jordan River? This is what it looked like last time I went to the Resivoir! ( 4 weeks back )

I was west of shawnigan last weekend near the "H" intersection on Kapor, and there was about 6 inches, though it was melting. hopefully it is almost gone.

You can always get in from Kapor main ( through koksilah park ), and then turn south onto West Jordan Main if the Reservoir gate is closed. I guess the quad trail to the side is a bit much for street tires! I have never seen it closed from the Shawnigan side though.

ok checked out 2 ways of getting in. one gate was open but no way of knowing if it will be open sunday. 2nd had no gate. drove in about 5 km until snow began. no idea how deep it was farther on. so we can still give it a try see how far we get or just go for a ride.

I figure any where between 10 and 11 to meet up in Sooke at the info booth in center of town.

K I'm in for sure, Im just need to find the info booth. Petro Can or the parking of the Shoppers might be easier. I'll find you anyway, Sooke is really not that big.

We could meet for coffee at 10 and go from there, or plan to leave said coffee shop by 11

Nice meeting you guys today! I did get a tour of a small part of Boyd's pit - the first bit is a little dicey for a dirt nOOb like me - lots of deep puddles and rocks - but there's lots of good roads in there. I lost my nerve coming out and ended up dumping it in a puddle Luckily no water in the engine but it was a cold ride home!!

Many thanks to Frank for the tour and to the nameless guy that helped me retrieve the WR from the drink

yes was good ride until my computer decided to lie to me. about half way back tire pressures returned to normal. so no idea what happened other than the cold must have played havoc with the sensors.
