Scott is great, he'll help you with anything. They'll give you as much help as you want or need. Membership is $100/yr and includes use of their shop and tools for $20/hr, 10% discount off purchases, free mounting and balancing of tires, discounted shop rate of $80/hr for work they do, one free roadside assistance call/yr, bike washing and there's something else too I can't remember. I've been a member there for a year and a half and it's been great. I recommend you at least go and talk to Scott - see what you think.

Last years rally for Malahat Safety was on November 5th last year, and was a great turnout. Has anyone heard when this years is happening? I really hope it is, as I'm sure you have heard there were 3 more fatalities last weekend due to weather, and lack of barriers. We need to keep pushing this issue, and get it done!

It was in the spring - May 6 to be exact.

Unfortunately the vast majority of accidents on the Malahat are due to bad driving, excessive speed, lack of skill and an inability to make smart decisions as soon as most of us get behind the wheel of a car. Yes barriers will reduce the number of deaths, but it really only solves the symptoms and not the underlying problem. IMHO the money would be far better spent on proper enforcement.

You can't catch everybody, and $200 per block isn't too bad of a price, if you ask me, given their lifespan.. whether police are catching bad drivers or not, shit happens, and it almost always involves the center line being crossed.

I'll come out for a ride! Need a bike though, sold my DRZ400s, and my LC4 640 was stolen in Western Australia was stolen.

Don't count me unless you want to get on the single track with your plated bike. Places where VStroms and KLRs dont make it. But then I probably know all of those guys/girls anyways...
