2012 Triumph Trophy.
Looks like Hinckley fancy a slice of the Touring market. RT style ergos and a big cube 3 cylinder motor.

Shaft drive, too! I wonder what the weight and torque/hp on the bike is?

Triumph builds another distinctly BMW bike...
I love the RT, and I'm glad to see another bike pop up in it's class, but Triumph could at least try to disguise it as something they thought up. My dealer told me this bike was ready at the time of the Sprint GT launch, and this photo does look like a pretty well finalized bike. |

Assuming I ever get to retire, Triumph just sealed the deal on either this Trophy or a Rocket III. Nice.

I'm not in the market for this particular bike but here's hoping if dipping their toe in the shaft pool is a success, Triumph will splash it across their range.

Its what the market wants right now, so who cares. I think it looks sharp and could care less what it might resemble. Actually it sort of looks like an updated ST1300 (from the front) too. |

Whoa..... with only 32,000 miles on my Bandit 1250, and having just retired, I gotta try to log another 100,000 miles before I can consider a new toy.
And I decided recently that a mid-size bike in my future was all I needed..... not any more. I want that drive-shaft driven, triple powered, British designer-name, huge dual headlamp, touring machine. In a word, sweeeet! |

Triumph does seem to be doing a lot right these days. They didn't exactly think outside of the box in the styling department though did they?

If this bike has the ergo charm of the RT I'll buy one. As for style, I still don't understand why so many whine over similarities with other models. The RT has one of the very best designs for long distance so why not start there? If this bike is so unappealing to some of you surely the RT is worse? I sometimes feel like I've stepped into a women's beauty parlor with all the nit picking and bitching at first siting of something new (and probably better).
Thanks for posting Paul.

It's about time! I hope it has a big gas tank and can cover 300 miles without refueling. And gets 60 mpg. And a stereo, multi-cd/ipod/mp3/gps/bluetooth/espresso maker. I hope it does the 1/4 mile in under 11 seconds and can lap Willow Springs in a minute and change. Anything less than that and I will be disappointed.

I just hope Triumph doesn't play the "leak" game with this bike as they did with the Tiger 800..

I like it. Looks more ST13 than RT, as a previous poster mentioned.
