What I want to know about those is how do you pick the bike up in deep mountain powder like conditions? I mean do you have to pack snow shoes or what?

Now THAT's where you need the 570, with all of Tahoeacrs' mods!

Never can have too much power for the sand and snow.

taillight wiring

I am installing lights on a 09 450 that didn't come with any and don't have another bike to look at. Can anyone tell me how the tailight wires are routed and where the plug is? Do the wires go through the subframe, under or around?

thanks!

On the 2011 570 (street legal) the wires route along a channel in the subfender and the up through holes on subframe or subframe tank in my case that are behind the ECM then under the ECM. Plugs are beneath the battery/fuse holder.

Might not help you with a 2009. But the online parts diagrams should show?

Is Something Wrong with my Speedo-Display?

I cannot get any "digits" to show up on my electronic display except for ODO & Hrs. Can't get anything for Trip, Average Speed, Clock, etc.

I've read thru the Owner's Manual procedure many times. I can toggle thru the TR1, TR2, A1, A2, Clk, modes but all they ever do is "flash" the symbol. I can't get any digits to show up on my display. So, I can't read trip mileage &/or reset it. Can't read the clock time.....and so on. Nothing happens when I push the "+" symbol to activate or initiate the mode.

Is something wrong with my Display unit, or am I missing something obvious? Its got this old stupid dog plum stumped!

Are you starting the process with "H" in the lower right of the display? After you have the "H" in the lower right of the display, press and hold the right button until the modes (TR1, TR2 etc.) flash. Then, press briefly the right button to toggle thru each mode. When you find one you want you should be able to press the "+" and it will add that mode to your permanent display after you leave this "setup" mode. And you should be able to use the " - " button to remove the flashing mode except of course "H" and "ODO".

If it doesn't work as described I would say your Display Unit is Kaput :(

BTW I own an '11 FE570S which I believe works the same as your model.....the Display that is :)

Yes...that's what I did: toggled until the "H" was in lower right hand of display. I shall try again, to be certain.

I think maybe my + and - keys are not working, as nothing happens when I push those.

more black plastic pics?

here

these teasers were taken just after I did the SM conversion. I used the 'berg kit plus some SM forks I sourced from a KTM motard.

Those Bergs look bad ass in black! When I sell my SMR I'll get another 570 and do it up in black with gold rims.

Who makes that carbon header guard, it is a P3?

Thanks,
Lukas
