bashplates and screens

Hi all i was investigating bashplates for the berg and came across references to the force bash plate with liquid storage and tool box, sounded interesting and i was having trouble finding pics of them so with help from force and troy carpentre i got some pics and i think they look real good, i'm thinking of getting one to move my tools off the backend and possibly use the 2l as a backup fuel store:

the wings are to protect the rad hoses ... a cunning idea i thought

basic 2l version:

P7010018

2l plus toolbox, looks bulky off the bike:

HBerg2LTool_4

HBerg2LTool_1

HBerg2LTool_2

on the bike it looks real neat and compact:

190387_1926035272039_5647796_n

200542_1926036392067_82231_n

the screen in the last pics is from a ktm 990 supermoto standard part, whilst looking at these i also came across this puig screen that might fit :

5052f-1

it bolts to the esge of the existing mask

Thanks for that Frosty!

Those look promising. I would also like to be able to have some fuel plus storage down low. Sure it would have little affect on handling. Did you happen to get any prices? I remember earlier in the thread someone mentioned $500 Aus. That what they are telling you?

Thanks for the research... do you have any pricing info from Force?

If the cost is reasonable, I think I'd like to get one. I've got a buddy of mine in Australia right now who's coming back to the US in a month or two who might be able to bring one or two back... (of course, I haven't actually asked him yet ).

where is this from, I was looking at http://www.forceaccessories.com.au/ - didn't even found the piece. Or it's made for order?

also, anyone know where that auxiliary tank comes from (white on a tale of a bergs on pics above)?

FYI I think the Scheffelmeier bash plates with the large tool compartment are now available for sale for around $400 without VAT.

I just sent my early version back to be upgraded with a new set of adjustable latches, I think they are also placed in a different spot now. Will post some pics when I get it back.

I also wanted to look into using the space on the upper left side facing the rear for an oil reservoir, would be a well protected spot to get an extra liter or so in there. Won't have time before the Tuareg Rally though, bike gets shipped off in 2 weeks.

Custom order bash plates.

Rear tank from RV Aqualine aka Safari Tanks in Australia. Justgastanks.com can get it for you.

Yeah this one. Just heard that the side mounts are now also revised based on our input on the pre-production pieces. Not sure how exactly, but I have asked Stephan for some pics.

Make sure to take plenty of photos for us!

Also Walter has alluded to you doing a possible RTW world trip over in his Sibirsky trip report. Any info on this? I would love to hear a out bike prep, route, gear etc. A Colebatch-ish ride report would be pretty awesome too! Sounds like your plate is full but would like to see your plans.

Yeah I am taking lots of pics of the rally build, still have a few hundred to sort through, and post along with a write up of the original setup for the Chile expedition last year. Just not enough free time ATM, maybe when the bike is on the way...

I want to do a 4-5 month trip Vienna - Cape Town along a challenging route across Africa, starting around September '13, for which the Berg would be ideal. I am also strongly considering making it into a RTW trip, but that will depend on some life circumstances and what I feel like after Africa. Also not 100% sure if I would take the Berg for that, if it's 50k+ miles a modified 690 might be a better choice....

Sounds great! If you go the 690 route make sure to get a spare fuel pump to prevent the ordeal Rod Currie went thru. Lol.

BajaDad, do you have pics of it on your bike? Are you using the liquid storage for water, fuel, or oil?
