Looks like these are up on Givi's US site now. Hmmmmm...... I may have to bite.

Well ok then, YFFs, just pulled the trigger on a couple 33Ls to use as side bags from our friends at Adv. MotoStuff. They appear to be in stock, so hopefully I'll see them by next weekend.

I'm currently running a pair of V35s, so I'm wondering if I'm going to miss the extra couple of liters of storage a side. I'm hoping the more regular shape of the Trekkers will make up for the lack of extra space (easier to pack, perhaps)?

We'll see.

Received the 33L bags, but they're going back. Turns out they won't mount to my rack as I've got the V35 specific Monokey Side racks. But, I do like the cases, so I ordered a 46L to run as a topcase. The 33s are pretty narrow, reminded me of a pair of fancy Pelican cases.

Hat's off to Adventure MotoStuff, they've been very cool and easy to deal with, especially considering the return. I'll be purchasing again from them in the future.

What rack is needed to mount either of the 2 sizes as a top case on a 2010 GS1200?

Just a Monokey mounting plate - many options out there. Givi makes a full rack/plate combo for the GS, but many folks just mount the Monokey plate to an existing rack. Take a look at Twisted Throttle, they'll have what you need (except for the Trekker bags - they don't seem to have them in stock yet).

Got the 46L today. Looks nice and still holds quite a bit of stuff.

Finally got the GIVI Adapter plate in.

Removing the OEM rear rack is easy as pie, so no pics of that. The GIVI rack is basically a plastic baseplate to mount the case, and 2 metal brackets that bolt onto the bike.

The plate is the ugliest piece of plastic I've ever seen. Very pretty, those bigass GIVI roundels

And as you can see, it's open in the middle part

But finally I can mount my Trekker 46L box!

Room for the pillion

So there!

It's ugly alright. With the 46L Givi Trekker you can hardly see it, though.

I removed the givi "stickers", and replaced them with BMW badges.

GIVI 'customer service'

I was very interested in this new product from Givi. I contacted them directly-which wasn't as easy as you'd think. Unanswered emails forced me to call them. I believe I was speaking with someone out of Reno, NV. Rude and short on the phone would be a compliment to this guy.

I gave up, called a shop in San Francisco that I buy from. They looked into this new case. All they were told was 'at least three weeks'. I asked if it was possible to narrow down this timeframe even just a little bit. No luck.

With this information I called my rude guy back to see if this could be narrowed down. No it couldn't and again, the guy was super rude. Made my decision of EVER buying a givi product all to easy....

you sure it was GIVI and not one of their distributor you called? They are in like SC or GA, not Reno

Yup

Positive. And the store in SF confirmed I was speaking with the right people.

I'm better off I think. Went with the gobi top case.
