I would be pushing it to go. Taking off both Thursday and Fiday.
I'll keep it in mind........

Ski Bowl was cool on Saturday. Ghetto as hell, but it was a good introduction to west-coast skiing.

I kept wondering where the ice was? And what is this natural snow garbage? And powder???!?!

I may try to go again before the end of the season.

Natural snow? Yesterday on the south side of Mt Bachelor -

When it's happening, Ghetto Bowl rules Mt Hood!

SkiMoto weekend

Now that sounds like the name of a new annual ADVrider ride...

We used to camp out at Besson camp (W. of Sunriver on the Deschutes) on Memorial Day for years. We would ski in the AM and trail ride in the PM. One year we even got a tri-sport day with some kneeboarding action on the Deschutes.

Not sure if Bachelor is open that late anymore but there's nothing like a SkiMoto campout!!

The NE wind was steady and strong with an icy bite that scared the people away which left NWE almost untouched. Once we'd get a couple hundred feet below the traverse it was all of 2' in places, blown in, 18 degree fluff. Even the chop was excellent.

Tim from Seattle. Rides a 525 EXC.

Colin from Seattle also rides a 525.

H.O. uses telemark gear but doesn't bother with the squatting. Just charges the hill.

Spent the entire day on NWE and even had a brautwurst as the mountain set up a little BBQ at the base. (Colin)

Here's me skiing like an alien being.

Yes, the skimoto idea is a good one. 2 for 2 now with these guys visiting as last year we also had prime conditions.

Great shots as always Wachs

Had about the most extreme experience in my 14 years on Mt Hood this past Saturday.

We notice a line forming for the Cat about 10:30. We check in and do one more run down the mile and come back and get in line for the second run up the Palmer Glacier today

Here she comes!

Now the ride up This was my first ever cat ride.

There is so much snow up on the palmer - we are talking about 25-30 feet! The cat kept sinking into the powder and would get stuck going up the steep face. He would pull in the clutch and let the cat drop and roll down the face in reverse which felt like a free fall into the Abyss. This scenario played it self out at least a dozen times or more as this cat stuggled to get up the Palmer Glacier. We ended up next to the chair cables which only were a couple of feet above the snow surface. This was a 10+ pucker ride..

So glad when we finally made it to the top. We were the last ride up for the day.

Top of the Palmer Glacier Chair Mt Hood - 8500ft - 2000ft below the summit

Can you believe it's April???

My nephew from NC is coming out this Sat and I'm taking him up all next week Should be EPIC! Keep the snow comin'!

You bet MTB! We skied down the Palmer Face after the cat dropped us off. It was windblown chop, but soft pow and way steeper than I rememebered from last season with the huge snow pack. The weather had moved in and it was a nice survival run down the Palmer Face We ducked into the lodge for beers and food after that trip up the Palmer by Cat. My legs were toast

That cat @ T-line is just another reason to get that Fusion Pass and forget about Shreddows. I love the Bowl and the T-line combo! You can ride the cat for no extra fee other than having a day pass. T-line really rules Mt Hood and they are just so generous to their guests. Free ski check too. Fusion Pass Ken! My second year of the Fusion, and it rules. 19 days so far for me on Hood this winter and I have five more next week
