I like the Givi crash bars on mine(mostly because the bike came with them) but the Touratech ones look good to.
Thinking about trading my 06 Vee for a Uly, any thoughts??

Yea I guess I'm a sucker for those. I have had two and like the way they ride. I like my Vee to, but whatever bike I get I keep looking at Uly's again.
You got this via Crapatalk

Goodcat I like that bike. Where did you get the decals for the side or is that stock on the Adventures? And I have done a few miles on Buells, I have owned two which is why I'm considering getting another one. I'm just afraid I will really miss my Vee.

There's a guy on stromtrooper who makes and sells them. I had a Buell XB9, that got stolen. Spent plenty of time on an XB12, and have maybe a thousand miles on a Uly. The Uly is what led me to the vstrom. The stupid little back of my head worries of dealer/parts support, is why I went vstrom. My buddy who has 2 buells (XB/XT) and has zero issues that require dealer visits though. I've had 23 bikes. Sometimes the same model two or three times. Get what gets ya excited. If it doesn't work out, mix it up again.

In my opinion, the Uly was probably the most Fun street bike that I have ever owned. When that bike saw a corner my grin factor just went through the roof! It was light(ish), very quick, and torque-ie, OMG! yes please! And it looked like a stealth fighter flying down the highway. Comparatively, the Vee is almost as fun, but compared to the Uly's performance it's a pig. I don't think most people would consider the Vee a sexy bike - personally, I think it's one of the ugliest bikes on the market, but i didn't buy the vee for what it LOOKS like. I bought it to ride the piss out of it. and I DO. I sold the Uly because I was tired of toasting my butt and fixing the darned thing. I know that others have had different experiences, but it seemed like every ride over a couple hundred meant some fairly costly repair. The Vee (and the Wee that my son uses as his primary transportation) have done many, MANY, thousands of miles and by far the biggest expense has been tires because we wear them off so frequently. My Vee has gone from CT to UT a couple of times under the previous owner and ME to CO once under my fat butt. It has spent a couple of winters in FL with me and has over 85k miles with little more than preventative/scheduled maintenance. Sometimes I miss the fun-factor of the Uly, but having owned both - for how I want to ride - I would not trade the Vee for the Uly - EVER. YMMV ![]() stepping down from my soap box now. Since this is a picture thread.... ![]() prepped for a trip Ride safely. Ride FAR
