Way to go Jake! Hey, my wife's Mom came into town last week and... I got to take off on Thurs. for a quick ride up to Crown Point. Damn nice day. We've got to do some long rides soon.

I just slipped a zip tie around the pipe where I wanted to make the cut and used it as a guide while I cut with the hacksaw. I wasn't too keen on cutting the stock pipe but I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Did I mention I'm tired of winter?

Hey Rubberdown, I finally got to go to this link to hear the Holeshot. I can't access a video from work, and it seems that is when I am online lately.
Anyway, that thing does sound badass! I really like that deep tone.

What is it like just cruising at a constant RPM around 5k? How does it change when you really get on it?

I want exhaust now! My wife is gonna put me in the garage with it though...

It has a nice deep sound when cruising but not overly loud IMO. I do wear ear plugs though. When you really get on it the bike sounds like a nice V-Twin should. I've got an idea! Order the Holeshot and cut the stock pipe off. Then, call your wife in the garage and act very shocked and upset. Tell her someone STOLE the muffler off of your new bike and now you have to replace it. If she compains that you really don't need a muffler then start the bike sans muffler and see how fast she changes her mind. If she doesn't buy your story.........................

This could work, I may just have to go that route. Either that, or start skipping lunch and Starbucks.

I remember the first dirt my v-strom saw. Modrover is a bad influence, no wait I was leading. I rember telling him that I didn't think I was going to take it off road, an hour into the ride we found ourselves here. On the way out I jumped it over a wash in the road and bottomed out. It sure aint a dirt bike.

Hi folks, here's my new virgin Strom, just home from the dealer.
No luggage or any gear whatsoever yet, but I'm busy planning and scheming.

On second thought, here's a red X for everyone to enjoy.
