A trick of the camera, see. I'm just a fair skinned (and haired) fella.

LOL, those bags on the red DL are horrible looking! But probably quite functional which is probably what matters most.

Yea baby!!!

SW Motech Racks, cheap pelicans... I have 350 bucks in the whole set up. I can carry EVERYTHING and it is water, and bomb proof!

Cool thing is, they come completely off, racks and all in less than 30 seconds.

An updated photo...

Newly installed Zega panniers and a Givi topcase... Along with a good sized tankbag I should be all set for my three week tour across the country this summer...

I already had one 1600, so I got another to match. Most folks are running with the 1550. They are a more reasonable size.

The cool thing about these is that they are HUGE yet sport a narrow profile. There is room for tons of crap, yet they are not much more than an inch wider than my handlebars.

Also the wide angle perspective of the lens makes the side shots a bit more exaggerated. Look at the straight on shots, that makes them look more like real life.

Heres one on the (closed) road to Crater Lake last year. My buddy John and I went from Boise ID to Bend OR, to Crater Lake (almost), to Eugene OR, to Newport OR, and finally made our way back to Boise. It either rained or snowed 90% of the time. In hindsight, April is not the best month for road trips, but it certainly added to the "adventure" element of it all.

Edit: That's the Suzuki "Tall Screen" mounted. It's for sale, if you enjoy an even greater degree of buffeting this screen is for you!

I was up there two weeks ago (May 10th). The road to Crater lake was open but the rim road was closed. According to the ranger at the gate, the snow banks were 15 feet tall and the only viewing of the lake was through a tunnel cut into the snowbank. Needless to say, I saved the $10.00 entry fee.

Shortly afterward, I heard the voice of God. He said, and I quote, "Dumbass."

Chickaloon Hills

Took a nice ride up the Chickaloon Hills tonight after work. Things are greening up fast here after a prolonged winter.
