It is an old version of one of these ...

A Marsee 22 Liter Rack/Seat Bag .... works great for my day rides, 4 straps (not bungies) makes for a very secure mount.

Fits great on the V-Strom rear rack.

Five day ride

Just returned from a five day, 2200 mile ride from Salt Lake City to Lakeview, OR to Eureka, CA, to Susanville, CA, to Winnemucca, NV (via Hawthorne and Austin) & home. Bike performed fabulously alongside an '06 FJR1300. I'm especially grateful to a one inch piece of Tempurpedic foam sewn into (under) sheepskin from Alaskan Leathers - perfect comfort during each day!

Hiya, may I ask, how tall you are?
as I see, most of us have difficulties to reach the ground with full feet down. now you have that sheepskin lifting you even higher from the ground.

36 was definitly a highlight of the tour as was our stay in Eureka - can't wait to go back. Hope all goes well for you in the coming weeks. That red ltr. Strom at the dealer will hopefully be waiting for you!

Korean pod has opened

My wife's flower box had this large pod-like thing growing in it for a while. It was open and empty on Sunday, and Monday I was riding this.

You don't like silver or anything do you?? Nice bike and photos, thanks for sharing. Love the way you changed the blinkers to flush mounts and moved the location. Looks like you tied them to the horn or something since they ar on all the time now. What kind are they, they seem larger than most? Also, how did you fill in the fairing and match up the paint so well?
