More to Report

I had a chance to take the Big Blocks out for a ride in the twisties to see how they do. I took a ride through Deals Gap late this afternoon. The temp was around 50 and the road was mostly damp. Some sections had dry patches, other sections were very wet, and there were still quite a few areas with heavy salt. The Big Blocks did really well. I think they may even be stickier than the TKC80's. I started to push them a little harder the further I got and I never got to the point where I felt they were going to slide.

I also got a chance to do about 10 miles of double track with them as it was getting dark, and the traction was impressive.

Overall I am really happy with these so far. I'm hoping they last at least as long as a TKC80. They are a bit noisier than the TKC's though, but I wear ear plugs so that's a non issue.

heh,... i've never been able to tell when TKC80s were "going to slide" until they'd already started to,..
fortunately, i was able to bring it back 2 out of 3 times. the 3rd time got me ankle surgery.

cheers!

Very good report, to be sure. I wouldn't have expected even decent damp road performance. Another plus.

I went to amazon to see total price shipped and didn't see anything like that under Kenda Big Blocks or K784. Edit: Don't know why, but when I search Kenda Big Blocks they come up now.

That's commendable, considering you have to cover your store/staff overhead. If I were closer, I'd pick them up from you all day long at $190 a set. Maybe I need to schedule another long weekend down to the Gap...hrmmm.

never heard of these. I assume they work well-sure be nice to get away from stick on weight goo on my rims. Dont mean to get off the thread on that just wondering if and where to get these.
As far as tires go- did anyone compare mounting to the metzlers ? My biggest concern is wrestling with mounting. I have a hard enough time getting tires mounted without scratching my rims. Never mounted a TKC but sure struggle with the metz, or maybe Im just getting old
