just spent 40 freeway miles in the rain with the marathon jacket and the water didn't get through to the h2out liner. very cool. 4 more days of rain and this will be a dry 4 days.

are the marathon pants warm?

Did it feel like the jacket absorbed any water at all, making it heavier?

i wouldn't say so. the outer shell didn't leak at all.

I have the Ergo 365 Expedition with the H2Out layer and the thermal layer so cannot comment on the Marathon. I bet you can get the extra layers from Spidi though.

I only just got the suit so cannot comment on its 4 season value but over the coming year I will.

Ask Matteo about the trousers, he should be able to fill you in.

I have got two questions:
1. I am interrested in the RR-Pro trousers in plain black size 54. They are currently not available. Can you tell when they are back in stock
2. I think you know the new regulations in France regarding reflective material in motorcycleclothing. Does the ergo pro jacket fullfill the regulation and if so, does the french police know this?

Dear Jack,

RR Pro pants will be available in a few days, please come back to this page to check availability. On the other side, you can buy Teker Pro pants right now at this page.

Regarding French High Visibility law: it will probably be mandatory from January 1st 2013. It will require to display at least 150 sq.cm on rider's upper body. Just to give you an idea, Spidi Ergo features 776 sq.cm. That means around 5 times the area required by the law!
Spidi is in fact one of the companies that anticipated the regulation, developing various high-visibility vests and jackets far before the law was published. From what we know, Spidi (thanks to its big knowledge on this matter) has been very helpful to create the right French law in the past years.
Anyway, the French law is not taken in big consideration any more from Spidi, because many Spidi items are much more performing than what law requires.

Higher standards are:
>3M 360° (requiring a certain amount of reflective on each side of body). As example, Spidi Ergo 365 Pro is 3M 360° certified;
>European High Visibility law EN471 (requiring min. 1300 sq.cm reflective area). As example, Spidi H2 Life Rain is EN471 certified.

Thank you for your quick reply. So there should occure no problem with the police in France with the ergo pro jacket. That is great. Have you thought of a solution for bikers with leather suits? My wife has a black suit and there is no reflective material at all.

I am interested in the XP7 boots but most of the places I've checked don't seem to carry them. The ones that do have them in stock tell me they are discontinued.

Is there a new boot that is coming out that will be replacing the XP7? I don't see too many boots meeting the Level 2 CE EN 13634:2002 and EN 3886:2002.

XP7 is not discontinued, and it's a top of the range boot, being certified Level 2 CE.

matteo i am looking at the superstorm pants because they are available here. i would prefer the gradus pants i think but they are not available in the us. which is warmer? will the gradus be availablein the us ever? i would really like to use the marathon pants but they are not overpants. i would mostly wear them to work with thin cotton chefs pants underneath. would the marathon pants work? which pants are the most waterproof?

Hi dadsfrantic.

Gradus is heavier than Superstorm, features Multitech protectors included (are optional in Superstorm) and removable thermal liner (fixed in Superstorm).

Anyway, Superstorm could be good for commuting day by day use, thanks to its lateral vertical zips.
Don't forget to add Multitech protectors to the pants.
