Hey motojunky, I was at Ijamsville too - I was spectating and looking for a bike to buy. Found one too If you ever want someone to ride with perhaps we can meet up. I'm in NoVA, but Ijamsville isn't a bad drive for me.

Had to tool around the back yard when I got it home

Cool. Were you walking around with a club member on Saturday? I was looking for someone, and at one point stopped and asked a couple of spectators if they were club members. One replied yes, and the other replied something along the lines of "hopefully soon." Thinking that might have been you?

I'm not a member there, and I don't think I can ride there without a member invite. I think that can be worked out though. Hopefully we can hook up for a ride at some point in the near future - if not at R&T, maybe someplace else. I have some space to ride at home, but it's a good 2+ hour hike from NoVA.

I was walking around with a club member for a bit so that may have been me. My wife was also with me most of the time. I was a club member there from about '95-05 (dropped the membership because I have lived out of state till recently). I will be joining back up, but it may take a bit due to the waiting list they have now. Definitely let me know if you are heading out riding anywhere this direction. I might even manage the hike out to your place sometime (wouldn't be so bad if fuel wasn't so expensive).

Thanks Garthe!!

BTW brewtus...I got busted by a hillbilly leaving SY...that's 45 minutes of my life I'll never get back!

Who knew you could get busted for having too much fun at San Ysidro?

Nice one Garthe. Ya got me.

Saw that same hillbilly in his patrol car about a mile away from the SanYo turnoff. He did not recognize the Abductor. Good thing too, 'cause I didn't want to get tazed also......

First trials event

I just want to say thanks to the King Phillip Trail Riders & NETA for hosting a great event this past Sunday in Wrentham, MA. It was my 1st day riding trials other than in my back yard and I had a blast. I was very fortunate to have attended the Trials School held at Exeter, RI last Sunday sponsored by the RITC & NETA and to have had Harry Grant, Bill McCormick, Dave Naismith and "Coach" as instructors. I learned quite a lot that day and have been looking forward to riding at the KPTR event which was this past Sunday in Wrentham, MA. I also wanted to thank Stu from Jack's Cycle for getting me a replacement kick starter lever in time for the events. I also had the pleasure of riding several sections with Jack of Jack's Cycle, what a great guy, I was flattered that he asked me to ride with him.

Coincidently, last time I rode with Dave I was 12 years old on my Honda QA50, 38 years ago. Thats a flashback for sure. He used to let me follow him and a friend around in the woods and showed me how to climb over logs, up steep hills and over junk cars. I've been wantng to ride trials ever since and finally did with of all people, him.

Walt Disney was right, its a small world after all.

No actual riding today because it was too wet. But I did clear a new section.

It was good riding with you J. Now you know: if you need to get out of the snow of Somewhat County, just come down here to the Banana Belt.

Edit:

Couple of pics from that day:
