I have injured myself so many times moving, loading or repositioning bikes. Seems that a foot peg is a shin magnet any time near the garage.

I crashed on the loop last weekend at Volcano Gulch and caused more pain than I have ever had. Big massive, deep bruises to my hip, both legs and stomach.
Was a tough loop trail and I wasn't paying enough attention because, after all,it was the loop! Went up on a rock, front wheel hit another rock, stopped the bike dead and I hit the bars before taking a four foot "air dab" and then hitting the ground. I guess I was lucky I didn't break anything as hard as I hit the ground. Lesson learned...pay more attention on the loop. |

My worse ever loop crash was in Colorado, a Ute Cup event at Sergent's Mesa. Long story but I do remember trees whizzing past me as I was air born OTB.

I have known several people to have crashes on the loop. One guy has been hurt bad twice.
I think we pay attention in the sections but I know in my case I was going too fast for the roughness of the loop and hit a rock wrong, down I went. ![]() Won't happen again!! |

Sunday I went over the bars, well more of a high side off the side on a ledge, so I won't be looking on here for a while, hurts to breath let alone laugh out loud.
Yep, hurt the old rib cage. |

Related to the national... I found myself standing next to Rachel and Dad Hassler at one point. Started to say hi, but realized that "hey, I know who you guys are from seeing your pics on the trials forum at advrider" sounded creepy at best... Hope you heal up quick Sting! |

I can commiserate Sting32, I busted a couple of ribs just over half way though vegas to reno last year. Ya don't have to stop riding though - I still ran the remaining 220 miles quick enough to salvage a 5th overall
![]() A top tip though, surfing with broken ribs hurts, a lot. A paddle board suddenly became my new best friend.

Just mention you "know" Gordy and Brewtus from New Mexico and they would have known right away who you are talking about. NMBearbumper.....er, I mean NMTrailboss might have thrown them though.
