Rode a trial at Seven oaks, with Pete and Jon.....

I did the whole day on the Red routes.

Tougher, but hugely rewarding.

Have I mentioned that I love this sport ?

Our bikes went for a ride on the trailer yesterday. I'm starting to feel like a Harley rider.

Maintenance

On my 96 Gas Gas 270, I changed fork seals & oil to 7wt. Found out why only 1 side was leaking because the other side was nearly empty. Filed the burrs and edges off of the fork caps and used the lubed baggie trick to get the seals on easily. Replacement dust seals didn't fit though.

Added in 1" long PVC pipe spring shims to eliminate excessive fork sag, I'm tipping the scales at about 200lbs, worked great.

Changed carb idle jet. Previous owner had a 30 which was way too lean. Went to a 36 and it idles smoothly with a nice crisp transition off idle that it didn't have before. Running 100 octane Cam 2.

Switched from 10-40 Honda oil to 5-30 Castrol and immediately noticed less clutch drag. Flushed coolant and bled all hydraulics.

Now if I could only find the time to ride.......
