Okay, back on track.
After a solid week of cold temps, wind, rain, snow and overcast, the forecast for today was sunny with temps in the mid-60's. Perfect day for a good practice. San Ysidro was planned. Imagine my surprise when I got up this morning to this scene- ![]() Not much snow, but it was a shock. However we here in New Mexico are not smart enough to stay home, so I gathered up NMTrailboss, and off to SanYo we went. The plan was for light practice and section scouting for NMTB for next month. Light practice. Yeah, right. NMTrailboss - ![]() ![]() Gordy (who NMTB texted before we left to say "It's melting fast, were going". Gordy's response - "MELTING?? What's melting??" Guess it did not snow down at Gordy's) - ![]() ![]() Grizzzly - ![]() ![]() You boys having fun? ![]() ![]() These pics I love. There were pics posted last summer of the latest NMTA Little Blonde phenom Sadie Webb balanced on her bike dead-stick while eating a bag of chips. I caught her today doing....somewhat the same stunt - ![]() What's so hard about that you ask. Standing on a trailer? So?? Well, she was in a bit of a predicament - ![]() She was a trooper and finished her snack before getting out of that jam. ![]() Towards the end of the day Gordy was all about checking the NCAA brackets while enjoying a cold beverage, Trials all but...not thought of much - ![]() Leaving the area. The snow that had fallen and accumulated early this morning now a distant memory - ![]() All in all, a killer day!!

Thanks for the pics guys!
Like Brewtus said, I text Curtis to see what is up for our pre-ride breakfast and he says that "it should be melting soon, so no hurry", WTF? What should be "melting"? There is nothing going on at my place! ![]() Anyway, it started out kinda wet when we first got out there. ![]() ![]() As it is most of the time out there, it quickly turns to "perfect". ![]() ![]() ![]() We messed around here way too long trying this impossible turn that they had set last month for Int. ![]() ![]() Brewtus: ![]() ![]() This crazy Doberman that we have now just loves to plop down in the water to drink! ![]() ![]() Easy looking climb claims a victim. ![]() This was actually much harder than this pic shows. you had to hop the gap and then do the step. ![]() ![]() Whoa!! ![]()

Gordy you guys are a tough act to follow.
All I got done today was lube the chain on the 4RT and make some spacers for a friends Sherco's front fender. I'm hoping to do better this week end.

Well today I took a 160 mile ride in 40 degree rain and wind to fetch a new stator for my 4rt. only to get a call when I was 10 miles away letting me know the computer said they had one that didn't exist. At least I found out before getting in line for Canadian customs.

Dang Brian, sorry to hear that. Good thing ya didn't make it across the border
getting back in some times ain't much fun. I need to check my passport. I haven't seen it since I retired. Hi Gordy, I was in NM[Albuquerque] in 65 and wished I could have brought my bike with me. Went to a Harley shop and to a flat track race. I think I had the only black car in the state. Pert warm in August. Had snow on the ground this morning when I got up. Your riding area looks very fun and nice pictures also, thanks for posting.

Sunfaded, covered in dust from sitting under a cover on the back porch for 3 years - ![]() ![]() That's my old GPz550 streetbike/racebike/streetbike in the background, AKA Track Dog. Looked pretty good after a wash - ![]() Doesn't everyone have Dunlop TT91's on the front of their Gyro's (a roadrace compound tire made for YSR50's)?? - ![]() ![]() I had this plate for years in my toolbox, came off of a trade-in from R&S Honda. It matched the color scheme of the Gyro, and matched the era of the scoot - ![]() The keyfob that came with the bike when I got it. No lie - ![]() ![]() After a Sea Foamed carb and a battery charge, Miss Bitters commandeered it for a quick ride - ![]() ![]() And then I beat on it like a rented mule - ![]() ![]() ![]() The rear tire does not smoke like it used to. Can't imagine why as its now 26 years old, and has the rubber compound of granite. ![]() At the end of the day, the 'ol Gyro survived and still provided in the way it used to all those years ago - ![]() Another shot, this time without the 1989-era bungee net (again, no lie) - ![]() Yeah, its not a Trials bike. No, I don't care. It was fun to goof off with my old pit bike again. A lot more is scheduled for the upcoming year.
