I took her for a ride in the truck then rode her for several hours with some guys that are much better than me. Good day of learning!

This was Saturday outside of Idaho Springs, CO. First time trail riding with trials bikes, and finding little rock formations to practice on. This is my first year riding trials, and it shows
I'll catch on eventually..........I hope my bike still runs when I do!!

Watch your knees, locked in tight together. You should ride like you were born bow legged, so the bike will move easily between them. That way you will always be straight up and down with the bike in control beneath you. Rocks like that should be 2nd gear, third if you like air. You`ll eventually learn how to slow down, but 2nd will always get you to the top! Looks like you have a good attitude so keep having fun!

And yea, at the end I let the clutch out and the bike just pulled itself out of my hands. Need to keep practicing to get a little stronger...........

Decided to sell my XR
In the early 90's my wife and I used ride trials together. I had just recently got back into dirt bikes with an XR that I got a deal on. At a local group ride a friend asked me to fix his Sherco. After fixing the Sherco I decided to dig my climber out of the corner and got it running also. Sat morning two weeks ago I loaded my Climber and the Sherco on the trailer to take them to the local trails and my wife asked if she could come along. We made several sections that first day and road for several hours. This was two weeks ago and since then we have ridden together almost every night. She even had me get her 85 Beta 125 running again so she could ride her bike instead of a borrowed bike.
Of course now the XR is in the corner where the two trials bikes have been for years. I will get some pictures as soon as we slow down enough to take a few. Mike |
