I finally manged to get my New Years Day ride in. I'm still dealing with the after-effects of the flu so 30 minutes in the back yard has me soaking with sweat and out of breath.

That south valley must be awful warm!! Rode down the driveway after a good washing, Tore apart the linkage and everything is fine. Just another lucky day being a GasGas owner.

I do have the owners manual. But.....I thought that the stronger spring would over power the rebound just as my weight over powers the dampening so a heavier weight oil would help. Then I would be able to get the adjusters more in the middle of the range and not at the end. I have been bottoming out the forks but it does not hit hard like on other bikes I have had.

Tossed in new pads on the bike. Didn't get to test, but its gotta be better than oil soaked ones.
Called GasGas this morning. 319.41$ per tube (remans) Decided that's out of the question. Called a local fork manufacture (Forks by Frank). 270$ + shipping for the set. Just gotta send him one of mine and he'll replicate it. Not exactly what I was planning to have to do with the bike, but if I'm going to compete at all on the thing, I don't like the idea of dealing with a leaky fork throughout the year.

Can't decide between IRC TR11 or Michelin (non X-Lite) for tires. I ran the IRC before and had no complaints with them, but have always been impressed with Michelin. Are the Michelin worth the 20$ or so extra over the IRC?

The Michelins are better expecially the X-Lite even when used with tubes they are stickier.
BTW.: the Dunlops are also very good

I read a lot of people saying the x-lites were prone to sidewall tearing. Any validity to this?

(not to derail this thread into a tire discussion thread )

My personal choice is Michelin, (not the X-Lights) but the standard X11. Tried two different rear X-light tires and both punctured, middle of the tread not sidewall. You will have to run more pressure with the X-light as well, maybe that was part of my problem. When running the X11's 6psi in the front and 4psi rear work well for me for most conditions.

The X Lights came on my GG and I love them. Noticeably stickier than the regular Michelin's or Dunlops. We have lots of sharp rock and I run around 4psi. No problems yet, but now I have probably just jinxed myself.

When I have to buy tires, I have always bought Dunlops, but I may have to start buying the X Lights now, even though they are more expensive. Got to spend your money on something.

And crashed the hell out of it.

They all look the same upside down.
