Cheers.
geez, you dudes are an impatient bunch. if i understand Mario correctly, he built his bike, assisted on another, and is ready to start a third mid month.

Mario says via PM that he watched the ER6C and V649HP builds, sold his Buell, bought the Versys and got to work. he did a great job, the man has skills.

as for the rest of you still on the sidelines, this guy is ready to start his third bike.

one thing that Mario requested was that any minor issues with the French to English translation be cleaned up, oh well, tragerbon only speaks the corrupted Tejas version of spanglish and didn't get that memo. i guess everyone understands what Mario fabricated himself for this build.

i've said previously that the easiest way to go big on the suspension is to use the 49mm Showas (DRZ400) in the Versys clamps, keep the rest of the front end. several builders have said they plan to do this, but Mario is the first to come back with a photo.

if i understand Mario, the wheels are DRZ (18/21). maybe he can clarify on the source.

plenty of work went into this bike, nicely done.

Marguyo's bike is pretty NICE!! What's cool about these build's is anything goes. I put a set of crf 450 wheels on my build first but was worried about the front tire hitting the bottom triple tree so stuck with the ninja wheels with a tall fat tire.
Took my bike for a short test ride (No front brake, throttle cables to short,no grips, just couldn't wait) and i think it's going to work out for my needs just fine. Hope to have it in the wind by the end of the month.

your english is fine, everyone can understand what you're saying, no apology necessary. just get your photo hosting set up and your can directly include your photos.

i think you should be thinking about a cush hub rear wheel setup. there is an aftermarket DRZ400 cush hub available, and also on the Japan spec DRZ model...or else just adapt a different wheel like the DR650 rear.

what is your cost in Quebec (USD) to machine the 52mm to 49mm adapters for the lower Versys fork clamp? these...

mine were machined with a self trimming/self positioning flange on top and slotted at the clamp pinch location to assure concentric clamping. were yours done the same way?

i've been asked several times, including recently, about the front 20mm axel, it requires an odd length when using the DRZ400 forks. rather than search the world for a manufactured axel, i used the high tensile 20mm swingarm bolt from the Versys/Ninja and threaded it to the correct length, then cut it off. easy and cheap. it still needs a sleeve for the right side, but you can find one of those.

post those zebra KLR photos in "thumpers", that will cause a stir. looks like you did a knockoff of the Expedition soft pannier mount.

yup, anything goes, pick your flavor.

the ER6 builders need to remember to pick up a set of the longer Versys cables, both throttle and clutch. strangely the ER6 clutch cable is of larger diameter than the Versys cable, helping to explain why the Versys cable has a higher failure rate.

i've had mine out mid build without brakes too. your resistance fades away when it gets to a certain point, ya just have to get on and try it out.

A cush hub alternative would be a sprocket from Kush Sprockets. I've never used a Kush sprocket, but it looks like a neat alternative.

The one shop I found that said they will do it wants at least $50
Heavy duty zip/cable ties.....and that's as far as I am going to on this "loaded" topic.
