Yeah, like the stock 883R 2-into-1 exhaust that was on it originally.
(Looks like someone got a hacksaw for Christmas, too)

OMG. I wish I could swing that right now. It's exactly what I want.

Yeah, it was tempting for me too. I had fell in love with the Forty-Eight a while back and was thinking about rolling my own version based on a Roadster. But, as I've posted somewhere in a thread or two, I'm getting married soon and have/had decided to hold off on a "new" bike for a while. At least until I could buy the ring and pay for the wedding and honeymoon, etc.

But, then something strange happened!

My sweety decided to surprise me with the other object of my desire for Christmas. Santa unexpectedly showed up at my door this past Monday afternoon with this:

WOW!! What a woman!!

I just posted the one above in case anyone was interested 'cause I thought it might be a fair deal and I won't be needin' it anymore. It can be found on Craigslist Atlanta.

That's beautiful Randy! I hope you post a ride report or two. Nice choice in women also. Congratulations!

Yeah, it IS a pretty awesome story actually.

The part posted above is just the part that pertains to Sportsters. For those with an interest in such things, the rest of my amazing love story can be found here:

A saga of lost and found love, and a CB400F

Hopefully, in time, I'll be adding to this thread as I do upgrades to improve this Sportster's "Go" quotient.

First up will be the exhaust (already ordered) to let her voice be heard just a bit more than factory.

Then I'll be upgrading the suspension to improve ride quality as well as ground clearance for improved lean angles. Plan to be installing the longer fork tubes and internals from the Roadster models, along with Riccor Intiminators. Not sure on which shocks just yet, but I'll be researching and getting better and longer shocks to match.

After the suspension is sorted I plan to add an NRHS Hurricane intake along with a Power Commander.

Once the "go" part is handled I'll start looking into what can be done to improve the braking performance.

Of course, all of this (except pipes) will have to wait until after the wedding, and the finances recuperate a bit.

And here's my sweet girl!
