[QUOTE=JonRoss;16343935]My new (to me) 2006 girlie. Took her for her maiden ride last weekend to the Black Rock desert in Nevada for the 4th of July and put over a thousand miles on her, 300 or so on dirt. Did some insane riding in the high rock wilderness and smoke creek desert - she clearly wasn't designed to do that level of ruggedness, but she handled it well and kept up with the KTMs and KLRs and DRZs. She definitely doesn't like soft sandy patches though. I blame it on the anakees. And the weight. And my skill (or lack thereof)...

Hey all, what's the windscreen of choice for a Girlie? Mine has one that *I think* was a custom jobbie by the PO who was a gigantic dude. I'm a regular sized guy and the windscreen contacts my mirrors when turning tight...

Congrats on a good looking girlie!!!!!!!!!!

If you can answer the windscreen question; then you sir, shall be master of all things tiger.

I have an mra vario and love it (i'm 6'2" and have a 1/25in lift on my bars)

I concur.
That one on your bike looks like a CeeBaileys. The Tiger955 windscreen thread has been going since the beginning of the Girlie shape way back in 1999. Good luck. You have a lot of forums and research to look through.
Take a look through my photos http://s396.photobucket.com/albums/p...cpZZ1QQtppZZ20 and you'll notice that I've been through all sorts of screen shapes and sizes.
This....

is the best I've come up with so far. It's a Palmer medium screen and mount with some extra winglets to deflect the wind from the narrow, top part of the fairing. With this I regularly find myself doing 15mph more than I think I'm doing because it takes all the wind pressure off me.

Well I wouldn't be looking to replace it except for the fact that when I rolled my bars slightly forward the edge of the mirror stalks hit the edges of the windscreen and I can't seem to re-position them so that they don't hit... only a real problem when turning tight circles, y'know, the shit that makes you fall over in your driveway in front of the neighbors... (no, I haven't fallen)

Just my .02 cents.
I too battled the wind issue on my Tiger, went through 4 different screens. AM using the MRA Vario now. However the BIGGEST improvement I came across was ......believe it or not...... changing helmets.

I had 2 KBC VR-1 's then got a SPARX and the buffeting was slightly reduced, however recently I purchased an AGV Stealth and the buffeting is all but gone. Noise is reduce 10 fold and I am a much happier camper on long rides.

Wish I had thought of that 3 windscreens ago!

Just a suggestion.

Not the greatest photo but it is my Tiger in the wild. This was on it's maiden voyage home to Moab from the dealer in Colorado.
