Super Street Cycles in RInggold GA has one. I've laid my own eyes on it. They've already sold one, got a second one on the floor now.

D&D in Pensacola has one on the floor in addition to 4-5 XCs. Good looking bike.

This is such painful tread! I placed order for mine on Friday, expected in 2-3 weeks. Damn. I can't even sleep good anymore...and those photos make it worse

My dealer has the 1200 in stock and has had it for several weeks now.

Where do you live? I ride in NW FL all the time. There is a big group of guys that get together & ride Eglin AFB & Blackwater.

Well it definitely sings, apart from the brief trip out for that photo shoot, had family commitments over the weekend so still below the 100mile 3,500 rpm guide.

Will commute on it next week so will find out what it is like around cars and hopefully will have some sunny evenings to take the "Long Way Home"

In comparison with the GS, you can feel the high up weight, particularly on uneven surfaces, the road next to where that photo was taken might as well have been a forest trail as the council had laid a lot of loose grit/chippings/gravel and used almost no tar to stick it down. The result was ridges of loose grit in the corners and made for a very interesting ride. Still at leasts I have run in the lower gears a bit more than I normally would. I think on that particular road, in that condition, I would have preferred the GS. Although more experience on the Explorer might change that. The more sensitive throttle probably didn't help either.

The wind buffet on stock windscreen is less on the Explorer than on the GS - which was also stock. I will play about with the adjusters to get the best height but the little riding I got in yesterday was mostly with visor open on my Shoei X-Spirit and I rarely rode for any time like that on the GS.

The overall grunt of the Explorer (even at low revs) and the smoothness of both engine and gearbox do feel good and is a step up from the GS. The GS suspension setup however can give a more positive ride.

I guess what I am trying to say is there are probably equal things that are better on each bike, reason for change was that I have never owned a bike without a Bavarian badge on it and felt like changing to something different. Does not mean I won't go back to a GS, although it will be a few years down the line if I do.

I live in New Mexico. My folks are in P'cola and I grew up here. I'm in town to hook up with my dad for a ride to the Smokies and since my closest dealer back home is 180 miles each way, I arranged for D&D to do the steering head service before the trip. Hopefully hitting the road this afternoon or tomorrow AM after a medical delay. I'm on the XC. I should have some great pics for the thread.

Thanks but could you fill in your profile so we can get some idea of where these are? Cabwaylingo could be any one of several countries. Cheers.
