That's for winter driving. More elevation, worse weather. In winter they will give the freezing levels for snow. If your town is above that, you get to enjoy winter more.

I have just re-read the entire RR for the 3rd time and it still blows me away...how striking the colors and changes in terrain...wonderfully wriitten too....I'm glad to be permanently subscribed...
