Dry fuel filter

I observed that if my bike is not ridden for a few days, the fuel filter will be drained of fuel (I keep the petcocks off when parked). Is this normal or indicative of something not right with my 32mm Bings?

Appreciate the education here.

Well it goes somewhere, I usually let my bike idle petcocks off till it sputters slightly.

Just to complete the education. So If I leave the bike alone long enough, the carb bowls will dry up?

Well, yes they will. However you will not appreciate the result. They will dry sooo slooowly they will deposit unwanted crap in the bowls. If it's to sit an appreciable amount of time, then drain the bowls into the tank and re-install them dry. Only takes a minute.
