For the life of me I can't imagine putting stickers on my bike. Probably learned that from my dad. He always made removal of the dealership sticker a condition of the purchase (that was back when people replaced cars every two years and dealers put stickers advertising their business on perfectly good new cars).

Some stickers are OK in my book. Those that define personality are fine. Not the ones that advertise.

I never get the people who put the brand stickers on either. You pay them damn good money for their merchandise, then give them free advertising. WTF is wrong with that picture. I once had a TT sticker right on my R1100gs, I posted pictures of it all over ADV rider, then it hit me after watching Long way Round and those fools get all kinds of free crap. Why am I giving these places advertising? Yup, unless a company pays me, or gives me something, I don't promote them.

I'm on the other end of this, myself. I never much cared for trying to be unique by placing a phrase that thousands of other people have on something. However if a company makes a product that I like enough, I could be tempted to place their sticker, kinda as a favor or something like that.

That said, I've not put stickers on anything since I was probably 12.
