Can you take an R100/7 on the TAT?

seriously:
If so which parts and what mods would I need to make?
I know very little about the TAT but would like to do a fly and ride.
Using a portion for the ride back.

That's awesome Stephen.

How much of the TAT did you guys do? The western section is reportedly much more rugged. Might be tough to get a /7, let alone a G/S, through there.

Thanks for the link.
Sam has done a ton of work!

I am going to buy the first few maps and see how this goes.

Now I just need an Airhead
Anyone have one for sale?

I love it when a well thought out plan comes together.

The Plan

What????? I got it all planned out.
I know where I want to go, kinda.
I know which bike I want to use, BMW R100, R80, or maybe a GS.
I know when I want to go too, I think.
See it all set.

Yeah, 500 lb. overloaded street bikes with minimal groud clearance, that's the key to offroad happiness.....

Although your additional handicap of a wideass motor I find ludacriss

My buddy on the /7 did parts of Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico and parts of Colorado. I did th Eastern part as well. His challenges were the red mud in Kansas and Oklahoma that really filled the low fender nicely!
Yeah, the Western sections starting in CO have some challenges but if it can be done on a loaded KLR it can be done on a G/S or GS me thinks.

Nice!

The G/S would probably do ok, I agree. I was wondering if the /7 made it all the way!!
