Question Waypoints around Toroweap / Grand Canyon North Rim

I'm looking for waypoints/tracks/routes from St. George, UT to the north rim at Toroweap. Can anyone help me out with those?

Summer of '09 there was plenty of signage heading down from Kanab. It seemed fairly obvious, which was good because I didn't have any AZ maps loaded on my gps.

You'll love it there.

Search around for "Arizona Strip". There are plenty of tracks and trip reports.

We tried to go there last April from Kanab but had to turn back because of mud. Planning to try again in September. If you PM me with your email address I will send you tracks that I have downloaded from various places.

You don't need a GPS for those routes. I did them in 2006 solo on a 950. I used AAA Indian Country paper map and that was it. The only risk is the weather. Check with the rangers in St. George about road conditions. They run those roads every day to check. They can tell you if you can make it riding a touring bike or a dual sport.

When I stopped in I was concerned because of a storm. The Rangers looked at my bike and told me to leave right then (late in the afternoon) and camp on Toroweap. I did:

Straight ahead and faster -Bo Weaver 1970
"There I was..." -Griffin Niner Three Hotel
