Anyone mounted one these steering dampers on an XS650? Bought it from MikesXS

Cheers

Couldn't afford a 'GSA', so now it's an 'XSA' "I didn't do it! & whoever said I did, is a liar!"

Cafe xs

Here's my cafe project. It's a '79 special. Traded a compressor for the bike w/ a spare engine. I was told it had a wiring issue when I got it. The "wiring issue" was that someone had switched the points leads, which took about an hour and a half to figure out once I got it home. Ran like gang busters after I switched them back. I have a solid weekend of work left to do before I can get it on the road & I'm really looking forward to it.

Not exactly my taste, but it looks like a lot of fun! Definitely does not look like all the rest!
It looks neat that way, but IF there is no rear support for the pipes, I would put something on, they will have problems without a little support, to dampen vibes.

Mainly best location for it & how it's attached, that photo covers most things, thanks Gordon.
Love your work with those pipes, very nice indeed!
Cheers

Yep, both went well, John's TT600 has just been rebuilt & goes like stink!
Maccas XT600 is in need of some TLC but is still quite capable of holding it's own in mixed company!
Interesting mix of bikes yesterday, [check out the thread], 2 x F650GS', 650 V-Strom with XR front end, DR650 with full kit, XT600, TT600 & my old XS650SH 'Tourer'.
Had a ball, Tumorrama Trig hill was like riding on ballbearings! easier coming down then going up, very corregated & deep gravel [always interesting], even the guys with Dunlop 606's [knobby] had trouble, I just put the XS in 1st & let it find it's own pace, not a major drama.

This is a Dunlop K460 that I run on the rear on the XS [130x16"], has bit less tread now! Have to watch out for Blue boys soon!

Cheers
Baza

Getting ready for this summers roadtrip. I bought it in December and have reworked alot, added the bills, which made up for 1500$ spent in spares, yet cosmetically, it looks the same :/ Hopefully it will change for the better :)

Hi Guys,

Gee, most of the bikes here are so.....clean! And beautiful, too! Mine, otoh, gets washed when it rains.....and, being in the Pacific Northwest, it rains a lot!

Enclosed is a shot of us up on the side of Mt. St. Helen's, our famous volcano and notorious tourist trap.....

She is a '77"D" with a '75 tank, and currently an '80 engine, since her real engine is being rebuilt, if I ever find the time to finish it up. I've had her since March of 1978, and she has always been my "go to" bike, for just about anything. Gotta love XS's!!
