HHHHHHMMMMMM, cogs are ticking!

Went up to Port Dover for the Friday the 13th. I saw only one other XS when I was there. I thought I was gonna see more. I had a great time regardless, and saw an Ariel, three Nimbus (Nimbi), and countless Triumphs.

Anyone else in Western New York head up?

Is that an original frame with a hardtail graft?
Has the neck been raked?
Been thinking of doing a bobber-styled bike but leaving the rear suspension in place.
Saves a lot of hassles when doing the first rego inspection!
Cheers

Just thread bouncing, quiet on this thread too!, must be the time of the year in both hemisperes, northerners out riding with good weather & we sortherners inside doing workshop jobs on bikes.

Just a thought;- what's everyone's favourite model XS650?
Want to run a pole on it?
Early '70 - '73
Middle years '74 - '77
Late years '78 - '82 [here in Australia]
Standard or Special?

How do you set up a pole on this site? Help! I think just stuffed up again?

Cheers

Here's my favourite 'Tourer' - 1981 SH Special,

Lots of work in rebuilding the engine, a few nice quiet mods without losing reliability & economy,
2nd oversize bore,
heavy valve springs,
double volume oil pump [German],
aftermarket oil cooler/filter system [Dutch],
heavy-duty sump filter,
Boyer Computerised Ignition system [Britsh],
VM34mm roundslide Mikuni carbs,
K&N pod filters,
solid state Regulator/Rectifier,
every bearing & seal replaced,
new conrods,
clutch plates [steel & fibre]
camchain & runners,
tappet adjusters replaced with allen key type adjusters,
the list goes on!
All these things weren't really available during the '70's when the bikes were new!

Cheers
