Kenny lives again!

even got carried away & started to polish things, only got as far the oil cooler/filter

Now to change his 'shoes' for the trip up north in weeks time

this one [K460] ?

or the Dunlop D606?
decisions, probably go with D606, just in case we find clay,

I am guessing that you are running 18" tires? I am having some trouble finding a 130/90 16" dual sport tire for the rear. I might upgrade to an 18" rear wheel on the bike and mount the old one on the car .

this is a 120 x 16" Dunlop K460, good allround tyre & excellent dirt tyre, dunno whether available in states but I've seen a Bridgestone on Rockymountain Tyre website in 16" that looks good too
Can't get D606 in 16", only 18" which is a bummer, another excellent tyre though
Cheers

Just hauled this one home today.

It's complete and reasonably clean. Been sitting for 20 years so it will need tires, brakes, carb rebuild, tank cleaning/coating, fork rebuild. I'm looking forward to digging into it.

Mine looked worse than that when I started, also a 75.

Hope you're going to peek inside the donk while you have the chance?
Pays to @ least do a pull down to replace seals, etc
Learnt from hard experience, when I bought the 'White Beast' ['81 SH],
it'd only been sitting for 5yrs & man, I kick myself for being so stupid not to do a complete rebuild before riding it, otherwise you'll be like a dog chasing its own tail, I know I was, every little thing that could go wrong - did!
Not good when you're hundreds of miles from home! [ dropped a gearshaft seal!]
Got both my bikes reasonably reliable now, next few years will be customising the powerplant a bit more, [must do a list of what I've done to each bike!]
Cheers

Just about ready to take it out for a spin once my new exhaust gaskets get here. Added a dirt-bike master cylinder, the old bars off my Scrambler and finished the sidecar mounts this week.

I dont think I am going to use the Triumph Brake light/turnsignals and the rear fender will either be cut down about 8"s or I might try fit a dirt bike fender in its place. It doesnt fit the desert scrambler look I am going for.

Try for a dirt bike guard rather than destroy a good standard rear

Not sure what mine is off, DR650 Suzuki?
