Stuccck
I'd have to say I would have taken some track off to the edge of the muck rather than make a go of it through the center!

I would think it is a "Pull type" clutch release that gets rid of the push rod going through the mainshaft.
A lot of Suzukis had that sort of release. That would allow a bigger countershaft sprocket.

Correct call on that one! ![]() Doctor & Duckslider from Bathurst went to a vintage MX meeting near Lithgow on the weekend, still would like a design or diagram of how that clutch would look, anyone help?, engineering curiosity is killing me! Cheers Baza

Thanks for the tip on that, just never had anything to do with that sort of set-up, clutch springs are the big problem if you really hammer an XS650 with heavy loads & not necessarily power to ground issues,
![]() Sidecars & towing trailers in hot conditions really shag them in no time, adding heavy springs just makes your left arm muscle bound [if ya lucky!] Seen blokes adapt Ducati clutches [dry clutch] which would work, hot oil is the biggest killer for clutch springs ![]() Cheers Baza

xs1100 plates and springs fit a 650 from memory.
I've had about twenty of the things when you could still buy them for $300 - 500. No way am I spending seven grand for one here in oz. xs500 E swingarm will bolt straight on and increase the length. 18" mag with disc. Lots of crap you can do for cheap. They were/are a good thing , but not for the stupid money people are asking Girlfriend still misses my old xs's even today and after I got into bm's , trumpys and harley's. Ran into a bloke who works at the gregory downs pub in 2000 ... he owns my last one I had. Started telling me about his bike ... I told him I built it and what all the extra # stamps were for .
