It was better then I expected, much better. Wow, this was one hell of a film. For the first bit you expect your standard ufc fighting film, but this is much more.

Honestly, it reminded me most of the first Rocky film.

5 out of 5 boxing gloves.

Watched Warrior last night, and can't agree enough!!! Def looked like a cookie-cutter fight movie to start, but ended up great! Highly recommended, especially if you like fight flicks.

Restrepo... Documentary about war in Afghan mountains... Shot by embedded journalists, very real.

Wow, really made me appreciate what my son in law (Airborne) must have dealt with in that sheet hole... He just got back from his 3rd and hopefully last tour. He doesn't talk about it at all, and now I know why.

X2 Very good documentary. I watched it a while back.
My buddy has a tour in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.
He said Afghanistan made him miss Iraq.

Hell on Wheels - This 10 part miniseries chronicles the building of the transcontinental railroad from the perspective of the crews working their way west from Iowa. Thomas Durant, the scheming head honcho of the Union Pacific, is played by Colm Meaney. The show deals with the day to day workings of a mobile railroad camp, as well as the camp followers who made money off of the crews. Definitely worth watching. I hope there will be a season 2.

There are 2 movies you really should watch while that's fresh in your mind, they're not documentaries but you'll see a lot of similarities.

First is 9th Company which starts off as the Soviet Full Metal Jacket but then goes to one of the forward bases in Afghanistan:

The other is Beaufort, it's about Israeli troops in a similar position in Lebanon:

Tim Hetherington was the director/producer/everything in Restrepo.

He was later killed in Libya.
