Craigslist Joe - This guy heads out for a month with no money planning to live off CL. The generosity of strangers really comes shines in this documentary. I had my kids watch it with me this weekend. I thought after the school shooting they could use to see a show like this.

Watched "Divide" the other night. Definitely disturbing and different. Reminded me of an urban "Deliverance".

Just watched this, wish I had seen it BEFORE Christmas as it'll definitely get you in to the spirit of Christmas! I gotta say it was a 5* for me, hard not get a tear in your eye.

Sling Blade (1996) - Billy Bob Thorton (writer / directer & starring role) -

A brilliant movie: deeply positively moving with a heavy under current of malevolence (thanks spell checker)

This was made by BBT for himself, which is a good thing because it enables us to see what he is capable of. I had to check up on who 'Karl' was & was amazed to learn it was BBT. It makes such a change to witness real acting rather than role play.

Reminds me of Shaun Meadows style.

An education.

I heard an interview with BBT where he talked about making the film.

He talked about John Ritter (RIP), who was actually his friend, and how he showed up for filming and had make up cut his hair for the role. I guess Ritter had no input and was pretty shocked with the results.

Great film!

Not what you're expecting.

I give it 5 sculpted sticks, cuz Olivia Wilde is hot and Jennifer Garner is psycho.

Can I recommend a TV series in this thread? Well here goes.

I recently started watching Breaking Bad on Netflix. This is the best series I've ever seen, at least so far. A great story (even if it is clearly derivative of Weeds). I love the way the main character slowly transforms from someone you root for into a bad guy. The cinematography is great, as well as the sound. Even the cars the characters drive are appropriate for their personalities. I recommend it.

'The Devils Double' - about Uday Husseins body double.

'The Meat Train' - a killer lurks on the subway - much weirder than it sounds. Interesting cinematography, which is just as well because the hero is a photographer. Vinny Jones does his thing: Welsh hard man extraordinar

It's not my thread, but I don't see why not, since Netflix is so heavy on TV these days. That being said, I heartily recommend Flashpoint. Solid 5.

I know this is the best of Netflix, BUT I just watched what may be the worst movie of my life. "Air Collision" dated 2012. Over acted, over music'd, over CGI'd, almost constant screaming. I hardly watch movies, they're just background noise for my internet surfing. This one had me begging for the end.

A few I've watched recently:

Iron Sky: Very campy, but a great popcorn movie. I loved the dark humor and how they made fun of both sides.

My Way: Excellent WW2 drama, good action and a great story.

The Edge: Set after WW2 in Siberia, kinda slow to get started but worth the wait.

I've also started watching the miniseries The World Without End, based on the Ken Follett book. Much better than I had expected it to be, the characters are fantastic.

Just watched Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol.

My one word review: tedious.

How many close calls can you shoehorn into a movie? As many as they did with MI-GP, and the result is a tedious film just begging to end.

Blech!
