Sad news in San Diego County

Saw in the news today that 67 year old Dwight Asmus had purchased a 1970 Guzzi with sidecar about two months ago. Taking a right turn a little too fast at Scissors Junction in Borrego, Asmus lifted the sidecar wheel and went across the double yellow line where he was hit by an oncoming truck pulling a horse trailer.

A very sad precautionary tale.

I think I saw you guys. I was in a big lifted Yukon leaving Anzo Borrego.

RIP to the rider. It was probably the worse I've seen. Emergency hadn't yet arrived.

I travel that route often in the winter for the last 25 years. Traffic keeps getting worse. You guys enjoy but ride careful. It's getting so I see a wreck every couple of trips. Having been a rider in the past I try to offer bigger opportunities to get by. But there are a lot of idiot riders and drivers out there.....you have to watch out for yourself for sure.

Ride safe....
