Take an additional 20 cents off in my area. I only thought it was spensive.

Love the project, can't wait for more pics!

Finished up that yesterday, today will see the application of 3M Body Schutz to the same area, under the cab floor, and the backsides of the new step plates/rockers under the front doors. This all has to happen before the plywood floor can go in, which is on my work schedule for friday, and I lined up some help already. Saturday the body can go on.

I also painted the firewall (engine side) flat black, to seal it, as it will be hard to paint with an engine in the way.

I have the two complex shaped plywood side pieces cut to fit already, I need another sheet of 3/4" plywood, and some floor paint to finish up.

I see a home cheapo run tonight.

I've been swamped with work since I got back, and "going to breakfast" on saturdays on the bike (only 92 miles away!) the last couple of weeks....

I'll grab some pics today.

for now, I saw this sign last week-end. I bought beer, and the lady carded me!

Guns, Wedding Gowns, and BEER! What more could a bloke want? Who cares that the petrol is expensive!!??

So here's the pics - I had a PCB replacement in a honda today that frigged up my body schutz plans.

2003 Honda Accord - HVAC/audio display goes dead.

to all the schmucks who think auto techs are low tech - think again

Unit all reassembled....

The inside of the panel truck - floor pieces cut - primer on the inside low edges....

you can see the area I"m talking about - under the floor, inside the body. I welded a bunch of patches in - it's ugly but rugged. No body schutz on yet - that will make it look better.

finishing up the loose ends is taking longer than I thought.

got the pass side pirmed up -

firewall -

new felt seals for the brake/clutch pedal shafts.

here we go..................................

Nice work, Scott.

Soon you'll be shopping for a nice piece of shag carpeting, maybe something in avocado green or harvest gold.

finishing up the loose ends is taking longer than I thought.

Huh, who'd a thought, a rebuild taking longer than planned.

Luckily, "I know a guy"..............

I still need to find a radiator, buy some throttle linkage, and remember, I haven't touched the front fenders or the hood. I'll be a day or two getting those together.

That's a whole lot of emptiness. Are there crossmembers or something that bolt/weld in there? I'm guessing the floor gets the pickup bed style rub strips along with the wood. Can't say I recall seeing the insides of one of these.

There are two steel cross sills, or floor joists that bridge the gap fore/aft of the wheelhouse. Originally it was like the pickups with the planks/metal strips.... I'm cheesing out and using plywood. Once I lay that shag rug down, you'll never know the difference!

That's a whole lotta shag! Not sure mine will look *exactly* like that when I'm done.

I managed to get some floor paint on the two floor pieces I have cut. This is some leftover oil based floor paint, I'm using it to seal the underside of the floor boards, so there will be some barrier on the wood.

It's gonna take two coats.

Finish the 3rd floor piece today, and install the floor!

Man, we have had a stretch of nice weather this week - blue skies and high 60's to low 70's - dry.

Here are the underfloor cross sills that hold the wooden floor up. Also shown is the custom frame hitch - I'm putting that back on, as the rear bumper is cut away to accept it. They have received the rust-oleum treatment, like the frame did, two coats.

Scott,
Just gotta give you another for how this project is going. Kick ass. I look forward to seeing the body, but then again, I really wish I saw it before you started working on it!
