I have one of these

I hate it. I absolutely fucking hate it. Every single day I pray that I come outside to leave for work and somebody has stolen it. Unfortunately it is still there every time.

As far as the drivetrain is concerned, everything has been alright I guess. But, the alarm, stereo, a/c, tire pressure sensors, check engine light, interior lighting, dash and door rattles, door locks, have been an absolute fucking nightmare. All the reasons I thought you were supposed to buy a Toyota, have been wrong in at least this case. I had a 1998 v6 E-150 van with 150,000 miles on it before this that never gave me any trouble, I wish I would have kept it.

That sucks. Sorry for your bad experience. I had the same truck for a couple years. I had zero problems with it and it ran like a bat out of hell.

It does haul ass, that is the only reason I still have it. If it was 5% slower I would have pushed it off the ledge you see on the left

Sold it just about a year ago to offset the cost of the new Tundra ...

AWD. I made the mistake of buying a car in 2WD when 4WD was an option and got violated on trade-in.

I pick it up Wed! I got the dark midnight blue color with SR5 package, bluetooth, automagic, towing package, etc.

Not wanting to be overtechnical here, but those are a true 4WD, not an AWD system. I noticed that you live in the NW, and that around here the 2WD versions are pretty rare. Same with the Tundras. I'm not sure I've ever seen a 2WD Tundra around here and yet they are pretty common down south.

What is "automagic"?

It sounds like a great little truck. I have no doubt that you'll enjoy it and get years of good service.

4WD Automatic (aka automagic). 2WD rigs take a significant depreciation hit vs. their 4WD models here in the PNWet.

Our development vehicle was a 2009 Tacoma with the 2TR-FE 2.7L engine and a manual transmission. The truck had an off road lift and larger than stock tires. The before dyno using a DynoJet chassis dyno was 117 RWHP. The after dyno was 248 RWHP. The after dyno was done without the catalytic converters installed and the Stage 2 pulley.

Here's my 85 22r, 5 speed, F&R lockers, dual t-cases and much more. I have over 10 grand into a 1000 dollar truck and its still not finished. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Check out this link on Bring A Trailer about a 1985 4Runner for sale -- I just checked, and the bidding is up to almost $17,000. All original, one-owner, super clean. I kind of doubt any of the trucks Toyota is selling today are going to turn into a classic like this, but who knows...
