these videos make me crazy. If I was next to those assholes and one of them that was doing a wheelie went OVER THE SIDE OF THE BRIDGE I would have to stop whatever vehicle I was driving and try to stop laughing. They endanger everyone on the road and cause nothing but problems for every other rider. They should be in jail.

There are idiots on every brand.
This thread is about the company not the riders anyway. |

I havent read all of this thread, but:
To whoever suggested Harley could make dirtbikes which would not conflict with their current market, I agree 100% and have wondered this myself. Most Harley riders get snobby when I mention I own a Bandit, but the few ive spoke with about my DR immediately become friendly when they find out its a dirtbike (well, thats what I tell them, haha). Also, I agree with the idea that Harley has an identity crisis- they have to sell the culture and introducing an HD sportbike would kill their image. Im sure many in this thread have come up with ideas how they could do this, but it seems tough to me. Maybe they will just wait until their demographic is dying off, then do one huge hail mary attempt to get established in the sportbike world? Fascinating thread... |

What is Harley doing???
How about dealers that don't actually sell motorcycles. ![]() the Cherohala Harley "dealer" ![]() . ![]() It's basically a T shirt shop. I'm pretty sure the Harley "dealers in Cherokee and near Deal's Gap are the same but I haven't been in them. They did have one old Harley on display.

Whatever. They just don't do sport bikes. Why does that matter? Why do they need to "get into" other markets? They are doing just fine with cruisers.

Sales reports through the first 3 quarters of 2012.... http://www.prnewswire.com/news-relea...175379331.html
"Retail Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Sales Through nine months, retail sales of new Harley-Davidson motorcycles grew 6.0 percent overall, 6.2 percent in the U.S. and 5.4 percent internationally compared to the year-ago period." Like it or not, HD and their demographic, isnt going away anytime in the near future.

I'm still a bit chapped about how they did Erik Buell. Poor guy can't even use his name anymore.

Well, yeah, Erik Buell Racing. It's just that H-D owns and won't let go of the "Buell" name. At least, that's the way I understand it.
But, on the other hand, he can do whatever he wants now without H-D getting involved.
