Thirdcoast from Houston (huh?...okay, that's sort of close to San Marcos)
Walks from San Marcos

A maybe from:
Chris (can't remember his ADVRider handle) from San Marcos

Would rather be in San Marcos, but can't make it:
Mack from Austin (poor schmuck has to work on a Sat. night)

Looks sort of like a crowd forming!
Got back in town early, so I should be able to be there.

No problem. It's a long haul over here from Houston just for a beer anyway. But, I suspect we might be having some more of these get togethers, especially when it's daylight longer and stops raining so much.

I plan on being at Jack's around 7 or so (driving a White Honda CRV, not the KLR...easier to balance 4 wheels after a beer). May be too early for you younger guys, but judging by the parking lot Jack's gets crowded and we might have a difficult time finding each other too much later. Not sure really, never been there.

Great.

Found a note on my bike yesterday. "Have a Corbin dished saddle that you might be interested in. 245-16xx" Turns out there are two more of us KLR riders in San Marcos. I called, turned down the seat offer, but invited this guy from the university. He apparently rides with some hot rod woman on a KLR.

So, might be 10 of us or so.

a few bits of info for all of ya'll going out there this spring - the const. on 170 ran from Terlingua Ghost Town to just west of Study Butte, the rest was fine all the way to Ruidosa, theres a great breakfast/coffe shop in Marathon just west of the Gage hotel wish I could remember the name. and you might also want to check out the chinati hot springs look for the turn off on Pinto canyon rd. $10 for a 110 degree soak also have camping and cabins.

And the party just gets biger. I am going to try and ride the blue and white KLR weather permitting. If not I'll be in a white truck.

Say what? Once again for me, I'll most likely not make it even though I pretty much live on Hunter rd in Gruene. Although, really planning to get more rides in. Someone needs to plan a ride out.

I’m taking the initiative to call a “pub meeting” at Jack’s Roadhouse (http://yp.com/yppc.php?pi=TXG4434097&cid=sb) on Saturday, February 12, about 7 p.m. or so after most Central Texas, deer-fearing riders have parked the bikes.

How will we know each other?

Hell if I know! But, you can look for this handsome guy http://uweb.txstate.edu/~sw36/images/SWTulum04long.jpg . That’d be me standing there looking stupid with a beer in hand, usually wearing glasses.

So, hire a baby sitter if you must, visit the ATM, and cruise over to Jack’s.

Thanks for the construction info. I checked out your smugmug, great pics! I liked the one of the old bridge best. My last trip to Big Bend I didn't find that place, maybe this time I will. Big Place, lots to see and do there.

If you have radio, check out 101.7 or something close to that number. It is an outlaw station, plays great music and has no, repeat, no talk. Only music; the good stuff. Tip jars are seen in the convienience stores and restaurants to support this important work since most radio don't transmit to this remote area; this is a great service.

Checking in From San Antonio

Been on the board for awhile. Looking for a 4 - 7 day trip down to Mexico. I understand Topes and Antware may be the experts here? If interested let me know.

Didn't see many folks from San Antonio???

Looks like a lot of lot of interest in Big Bend - Here's a link to my trip in October:
