Carl, there are a group of riders that have been doing rides at many of the dirt parks here in Tx. They have been using the TWT site to organize and plan though. The next one is Memorial Day weekend at a place just East of Waco.

Hmmm, given the amount of Texas-time in my future I might stash a bike in Houston when I am down there. I used to ride out near Mineola and out west of Sherman. Sometimes outside of Houston to the north (forget the names of the trails though....).

You guys mind visitors poppin' by?

Hello Tourmeister,

There is another fellow here in Temple with a 2005 KLR650, so there are at least two of us dual sport type riders here. I'll start checking in with the twtex.com site and see whats going on.

The temp flashing on a bank sign showed 103 down in Killen on Saturday. I went through a 100 OZ camelbak on the ride down there. I guess summer's here.

Yeah, we're cooking over here in East Texas. The humidity is cranking up as well as the temps! I can't wait to go to Colorado in July !!

Lddave, got more specific details about your get together? I've no idea where that is? I see that date has come and gone though...

Adios,

OK,I have been lurking around this site since selling my old VFR and buying a KLR.I live between Conroe and Willis and have been exploring/discovering the many gravel roads around here and in Grimes county. The info that i have gotten from this site has been amazing, but I have been having so much fun riding the KLR that I have'nt taken the time register here. The summer heat will probably put me inside and on this laptop learning to type better(?)and trying to be more involved in this kick a$$ advrider community.Anyone around thats ready to ride let me know please,I have found some cool roads but I know there's lot's more,my work schedule is pretty flexy so there's a good chance that i'll be around if someone wants to ride during the week. cheers,Scott

Howdy Qwazi!

Nice to know another DS rider is so close! I am in Huntsville a few blocks from the Hwy 30 exit on I-45. We do a regular bike night over in Montgomery on FM 149 every Thursday evening from 7-9pm. You should swing by and meet some of the folks!

I do a lot of putzing around on the dirt roads East of I-45 and North of Hwy 150. I also do a lot out West around FM 3090 and North of Hwy 30.

I try to post up rides that I will be doing here, and I also post them over on the Two Wheeled Texans site since there are a lot of DS riders there as well.

Hope we can hook up some time!

Adios,

Adios,
Decided to meet up with a few riders from the Buda area and since last time we meet close to my area we decided to me at Leon's Country Store on 535 in Rockne . Hung out for a while then I headed home and on the way picked up some towns I needed for the Team Strange Tour.

Hello from Grapevine. I ride the KLR to work about half the time (the bonne gets the off days).

There's good dozen of us KLR riders here in the DFW area that get together about every other weekend for rides.
