You should come out for the Sugar Land meet-n-greet on Monday Night.
That goes for anyone else too - all are welcome!

SA to Creel

Any San Antonio/Austin riders headed to Creel for the HU meeting? New to the area and MX. and I'd like to find some experienced south of the border types headed that way in Oct. First Cervezas on me.

Myself and one other guy from SA here are talking about it. It might be another month till I can commit for sure. I have been to the Creel meet 3 times before and it is well worth going.

A couple of us from Austin and New Braunfels are talking about going as well. Have not been South of the border yet. Looking forward to it. The Creel meet looks like a good time.

Any time y'all start getting some thoughts together let us know. Would be cool to ride down together.

later,

chuck d

If the Creel trip doesn't work out for you, I'm putting together an adv/dual sport recon of the mountains south of Monterrey for 11-14 Oct. Any and all adv riders are invited to attend. More info in the upcoming trips section here in a thread titled "The Mountain Recon" and on my web site at www.texasadventure.net

I'm planning to go. Went last year and had a great time - just too much to see in three days (or three months). It would be good to have company for the ride. Also planning to do Richard's "Mountain Recon", just working out the logistics. PM me if you want to talk about this. John

bounce, native and myself did HU and creel last year and it was a blast! First time for all 3 of us Planning on it again

My only advice is to get the paperwork done ahead of time, and to cross over
at a small town like presidio. Plus the first 50 miles inside ME from presidio
is some great riding!

GD; I'm planning on leaving early on the 25th to westfest so's i can take in a late lunch at the big texan in amarillo. packrat and a few others have spot at the local KOA and am gonna try to make that happen.

Here's to hoping that amarillo isn't a dry county

We'll probably leave early afternoon on the 25th and see if we can make it over to Roswell or Clines Corner for the night.

I think as long as you don't stop in Lubbock, you'll be fine...

Amarillo is funny that way... Stopped in one store and dry as a bone! They told me to go 3 blocks down and the C-Store had what they called a beer cave in it, was truly awesome!

same with lubbock, all dry except the SE corner of the loop where they have a block full of liquor stores. btw, that slab between lubbock and amarillo is the most heavily patrolled road i've ever seen
