What's with this rain. Damn, I'm moving back to Oregon, it rains too much in Texas.

I rode PHX to Alpine Monday, wanted to stay in Marfa, but the weather made me nervous. Tuesday, I experienced rain, sleet, snow, more rain, road spray, rain, sleet, and did I mention more rain, all the way from Alpine to Del Rio, and back up to Austin.......

PS. It was still a great ride.

San Marcos ADVRider "pub meeting"

I’ve discovered there are a couple or three ADVRider folks in and around the San Marcos area. I think it’s time to get together for a brewski or other favorite beverage and plan some rides, swap stories, shoot some pool, or throw a few darts.

I’m taking the initiative to call a “pub meeting” at Jack’s Roadhouse (http://yp.com/yppc.php?pi=TXG4434097&cid=sb) on Saturday, February 12, about 7 p.m. or so after most Central Texas, deer-fearing riders have parked the bikes.

How will we know each other?

Hell if I know! But, you can look for this handsome guy http://uweb.txstate.edu/~sw36/images/SWTulum04long.jpg . That’d be me standing there looking stupid with a beer in hand, usually wearing glasses.

So, hire a baby sitter if you must, visit the ATM, and cruise over to Jack’s.

I have that weekend off, I might be able to make it but gotta see what come up between then and now. I'll be coming in from Houston. Hey, there is someone riding a yellow 1150GS in the San Antonio area, twice I was heading east and saw him heading west on I-10. Do you know him?

Sorry we missed you on your visit to the Houston Area. I have read some of your posts in the past and checked out your web site. Cool stuff, I need serious help in the kitchen. I can make a decent pot of chilli or beans but that is about it. Anyway, wishing the best for your tirip, I hope you bring home a bunch of great memories and post some pics...

I look forward to seeing y'all at Jack's Saturday. I'm new to ADV, but have been in San Marcos with a motorcycle of some kind since 1994. I look like this, but usually without the trout.

Is that a trout or a minnow?

Yes... good memories near Houston visiting a friend that has horses and chickens and even cooked me a real "Good Home Country Meal"...
Actually in a few hours, as I am now in Lordsburg, NM, I will be at my new home... Portal, AZ.
The sceneries have been overwhelming and to think that NM and AZ will be my backyard is an awsome feelings...
Let me know if you need any tips in the kitchen... would be more than happy to oblige... Hope to see you guys sometime on this side...
Be well...
Ara

I am 11 feet tall, standing. The trout must be 3 lbs.

I'll be there from Seguin, either a green KLR or a blue Concours.

Hey crew it's looking like this for Saturday evening (2-12-05) in San Marcos:

AndyT from Seguin
BikePlanIt from San Marcos
GoreTX from San Marcos
Andruboz from New Braunfels (bringing the map we hope)
Thirdcoast from Houston (huh?...okay, that's sort of close to San Marcos)
Walks from San Marcos

A maybe from:
Chris (can't remember his ADVRider handle) from San Marcos

Would rather be in San Marcos, but can't make it:
Mack from Austin (poor schmuck has to work on a Sat. night)

Looks sort of like a crowd forming!

So, is it still going to be around 7pm as the original post said?
