I wonder if they'll redesign the bottom of the engine block so the large BMW skid plate can be attached without extra brackets to move the existing holes around.

The only bet I'd make on the thing is that the first model with the LC engine will be the GS. And I'd make a sizeable bet on that.

Oilhead vs LC
After 4 Oil-heads, 850GS, 12GS, and my good old friend the 100GS and now a brand new ADV TP I ask myself: can the LC be soooooo much better?
And you know what, I think it can and will be better, more smooth power, better brakes..........and so on, there is no standstill and in a couple of years, after all problems of the first series solved , we'll all enjoy the LC without even thinking about any doubts we had about it ![]() Safe drive this season to everybody !

i agree i just bought 2012 R1200GS
I think the it will be out in 2013 and I'm safe to say I made a good decision wouldn't buy the first year and wouldn't buy 2013 its unluckily, R1200GS i wanted one in 2008 and thought i would getting one for far longer. I'm glad i getting the DOHC. They both to the job very well. Worst case senior I get the liquid cooled one days but probable i won't i plan to really rock this one out with all the bells and witless and keep it for a very long time. I very short so i bought the R1200GS fully loaded in white. there things to be fixed on this bike I hope BMW nails all of them I love the LED on Audi and now many car companies are following it, It looks great and it looks the the next phase better then the F800GS which i should be, it also doesn't over write the R1200GS light. Yeah I get to enjoy the newness for a full year or maybe 2 full years by then the newness feeling is gone. And i can appreciate it for its historical significance. I have big plans for my R1200GS one thing is traveling long distance to see this great nation the united states in it wholeness something you won't get flying in air plane.

Yup - when you're driving your brain is looking at navigation/traffic things. When you are a pax you see things you rarely see as a pilot - I really do enjoy being flown around.
Motorcycling and 4WDing also open up all those places you saw from up there and said "I'd love to have a closer look down there some day." That's what I am doing now... viz |

what about reducing the size of liquid cooled boxer
I keep think it think making a boxer now smaller but having more then enough power as i say the R1200GS has in a liquid cool fueled efficient boxer. I keep thinking that while i rinding what about making the new design smaller, have more cleanse in turns, good on gas, i guess it too late for 1250cc but make rmaybe next time around. better gas milage, more power smaller looking which think would look cool. And all th bells and whilst of ESA, ABS, ASC, heaters grips trip computer, etc.

I think BMW is licensing this engine for the new WasserBoxer.

I think the R1200RT liquid cooled will be mazing.
i love off road to much to get fit of R1200GS. I think the R1200RT will be amazing. 136hp is about right at the holy grail of power to weight ratio it just about all you can crank before it just to damn fast to open it up any more. The RT now is really nice really modern. So a liquid boxer style engine not just in the engine but the other things the new, i thinning LEDS i hope not cat eyes i think the LED like the Audi have and the new Chryser and the new GS that kind o LED oh man, the brighter txt display the wheel thing i like heat that on the RT now. heated grips that have more models. Sometimes the GS it too hot in 2 level and too cold in 1 level. Yeah that what I'm talking about R1200RT will look amazing it will be an amazing bike. i find myself mostly riding on road, but the time I'm inroad i think like that big fairing that incloses you not having to put head set on and i think i look good on it my fat ass. ill be in 50k. I have to ride the GT and i make choice then if the RT has more power then i can use i buy that one.
