Actually these are a mix of reality with fantasy... Wunderlich said that these images are drawings made by a desinger BASED on the leaked photos of the new GS ... with that in mind we can assume the new GS will be similar to those pics but not exactly the same as shown...

I'm wondering how many surprises there will be when the bike is unveiled tomorrow. What we already know is:
  • Roughly what the bike will look like. (More angular than the outgoing model.)
  • It'll have semi-active suspension, as per the S1000RR HP4 and new Multistrada.
  • It'll have updated traction control (ESA).
  • There will be a colour LCD on the dashboard.
  • The low beam light will be an LED.
  • The swing arm will be on the other side.
  • The expected power output is around 130 to 135 bhp. Fuel economy will be better.
  • And it'll be water cooled.
The only things that I could think would be surprises are:
  • We see more than one watercooled model, such as a GS Adventure, RT or even an S.
  • The power output is higher than rumoured. I think that there's a possibility it'll be 150 bhp to compete with the Multistrada.
  • The bike's got another trick, such as stop-start, that hasn't been announced.
Still, looking forward to the big reveal tomorrow morning.

The 1,170cc 2013 BMW R1200GS will weigh 20lbs more than the outgoing model, while making 14bhp and 3lb/ft of torque more than the outgoing model, according to cell phone shots snapped by Dutch site Oliepeil the day before the Intermot show opens in Cologne.

Why would they want to compete with the MS? It's a whole different philosophie of riding. The SM is just a good desguised sport(touring)bike.

The low beam isn't LED, that's the equivalent of the small park light.

With all due respect, those are cell phone snapshots of somebody's computer screen. Why put any stock in its validity? It's all bunk - we're this close, no reason to pay attention to this type of tabloid hype....we'll all find out tomorrow.

And I'm still excited to see the real deal!!

This is it, imo

http://hellforleathermagazine.com/20...ot-show-floor/

If so, good. It is very evolutionary, and I for one won't be running out to get one. BMW clearly played it conservatively, so my 09 wont appear to antiquated.

Just because they aren't identical doesn't mean they aren't competitors...The GS is certainly losing some marketshare to the multistrada. For most GS riders, the GS is a sportish/touring bike, not an enduro.
