People do, and especially people here will. No doubt about that. None at all. They will blame BMW if their shit looks different after having a test ride on the new GS. People are stupid. It's mainly a matter of HOW stupid and in what topic whether you can endure them or not.

FWIW, don't forget to consider that the flywheel, pressure plate and clutch no longer hang off the back of the crankshaft.

Wow! Pretty self-righteous aren't you?

If "people are stupid" then I guess you're including yourself in that group too, huh?

Of course I do. I do stupid things all day long. But I generally try to do less of them and I try not to blame others first and myself last.

If you have worked with people in general, you will likely have learned that as soon as you put two people together you have reached critical mass for idiotic discussion and behavior. Pretty much doesn't matter what two two people you chose, there will be situations or topics where they behave like idiots. One person alone is often better, but in modern times the second guy is always there "on the net".

From experience I'm an absolute cynic in terms of how stupid humans in general (and myself in particular) can be and I'm totally with Einstein on this: "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about th’universe!"

That's what I figured ... I'll certainly give it a try and there is an about 50% chance I'll get a 2014 or so.

materials and oils are better now, so bearings can be narrower. Also with liquid cooling, they can put in tighter clearances because of less temperature extremes, lighter oil can be used, which will make more efficiency.

I do not think this will be a worry.

HD already patented a similar design to BMW's a couple years back.
