I'd be interested in finding out how many Camhead owners (%) are thinking of upgrading to the Wethead and
how many are waiting for the Adventure version to arrive.
I had planned on buying the Camhead, but the Wethead came out faster than I thought it would.

"Sporkhead" applies only to the new GS model due to its front fender. Other -heads apply to a motor which is used in several R bike models, not to just a single model bike. So while "spork" is a great word, it doesn't really apply to a motor. IMO.

I'm gladly included.......but I have fewer posts and ride more.

I just wish I gained more from this section of ADV then what really happens. All the other sections seem more friendly with people willing to help, the BMW section seems to have too much EGO and BS then what is really needed.

Can we get back to the real info of this bike or can the admin from ADV just trash this section and start a new post with useful information?!

The 2010 Multistrada has a LED daytime running light, or rather light strips, that go around both headlights, so I doubt that's what BMW is referring to.

The 2012 Panigale can be ordered with LED headlights, but it's not offered even as an option on the standard model, so maybe that's where BMW comes up with their claim.

Regardless, it's cool that they offer a full LED setup as an option, and it will be REALLY interesting to see how it works over time. What will the life expectancy be, and what will the cost be to replace it.....and how will that balance against replacing a few Halogen bulbs? Time will tell.

If BMW called this bike R1250GS we could avoid this silly discussion altogether! They are flexible with F-series nomenclature after all.

I might upgrade to a waterboxer eventually but never a wethead.

With my 2010GS only having 10.000Km on the clock and looking like showroom I'll wait for sure for the 2014 ADV WetBOXER. I want a larger tank (just how will BMW do it?) higher ground clearance due to longer springs and also a higher seat and windshield. Did I read the handlebars can be adjusted on the 2013? I don't see a clamp that can be rotated anymore.

It may be a while for me since my last three BMWs are a 1989 R100GS, 2000 R1150GS and now a 2012 R1200GSA. I'll be ready for a new one around 2023-24 by that math. I'm definitely interested in hearing long-term feedback from real users on the radically redesigned waterboxer GS and will seek one out for a test ride when the demo truck is in the area. I'm very surprised at the layout of the new motor with the clutch/trans/engine sharing oil and certainly anticipating the first "I've got a blown head gasket" thread in GSpot.

Falling down

Hello! Has anybody had a closer look at the radiators of the new LQ model, I mean how would they tolerate falling down? Are they well protected?
