Does it look like the Vario cases from the current GS's will fit on the new GS?

We're going to have to buy new Varios (or other brand) cases and new Russells, too.

You can't simply flip the cases?

Farkels
New bike new farkels, can life be better?
I really want one but I want to try it first, got a Pope mobile screen on mine and would like to see how effective the new BMW screen is. Effing hate buffeting I'm going to buy it with cases, can't be bothered to do it all over again. But first my old bag of nails is going to Istambul ere it's px'ed for new one and I want the adventure model anyway. And what's all this bull about the GS being ugly? Methinks mine looks great albeit a bit strange compared to UJMs. But strange in a nice stark way

Ever hear of sarcasm as your response is far more sarcastic than ironic. IMO.

Enduro Pro Mode Plug
It is the optional plug to activate the "Enduro Pro" mode. It allows the owner to save selected throttle response, power delivery, ABS modes, ASC, and I think even an optonal cruise control mode, so they can be selcted later for different riding conditions. It is already available on BMW's passenger cars.

Just back from the Long Beach IMS and was absolutely wowed by the new GS. From a design and technological perspective they seem to have nailed it; the motor may be water cooled but all else remains pure BMW GS. I rode my GS to the show to have a good feel for the ergos and new attributes. Like others have said, the bike appeared sleeker, less wide (probably a function of the smaller windscreen), and a little roomier in the leg/knee area. The seat height felt the same and I couldn't feel any real discernible weight diff (maybe a bit heavier?) when righting it off the side stand. The knob to change the windscreen height is a nice touch.
I'll add some pics in a bit. My decision making has become more difficult. It all boils down to keeping what is almost perfectly refined or trying what is new and improved in certain areas. Congrats BMW

Just back from the show as well...Love the new GS...it's everything I thought it would be and more. I've spent so much time looking at pictures, I felt like I knew every inch of the bike. The materials felt higher in quality than I expected and the radiators that look massive in pictures are nicely tucked in. The windshield seems higher than the previous stock shield. A BMW rep again confirmed the LED being approved by DOT. There is no info. on pricing. I can't wait to test ride one.

Any mention yet of objective performance of the LED lights? I mention that, because LED lights tend to have a poor projection pattern, with too much light spilling out a very wide angle onto road & objects very close [actually uselessly close for riding purposes] to the bike. This reduces the effectiveness of the illumination of the distant road ~ but yet giving the psychological impression of greater overall brightness. . |
