What is truly amazing is that BMW USA's website currently has the base MSRP of the new GS at $15, 800.00 (with ABS), and the old GS at $16, 150.00 (with ABS)...so, with all of the improvements the new bike is $350.00 cheaper!

The new R1,200gs blows the GSA stats out of the water in the bike comparison chart.

Well no chance for 2013.
I do NOT expect it in 2014 either.
At least 2015.
Mark my words.
Guys you only have to look at the standard patterns BMW follows in motorcycle production.

Good thing that I don't care about GSA, although I am 100kg, I always found GSA VERY fat for my liking (GS is already a fat bike in the front). I don't want to refuel every 700km, I want to stretch my legs in smaller intervals. If I ever go somewhere where gas stations are few, I can take fuel canisters along like people do for the last 100 years on expeditions. I don't like what a full tank does to the bike COG. Only thing I ever wanted from GSA was the colors (inc. frame and spoke wheels color) and the taller suspension (which was to actually be able to handle the extra weight but anyway).

well, you just fill in 20 liters in the GSA tank and you are OK with major suspension, colors and spoke wheels

Any chance you can help before you leave for the next One World trip?

Yes, will manage to get some of our photos available after US tour being scrutunized from tomorrow onwards. Us tour will be from LA to LA from 9 to 17 march. Will let you know more precisely itinerary details when available.

And have this fat thing in front of me? Why? No thanks. Plus it gives me this feeling of "bigger tank, smaller..." ...you know. No offence to anyone.

Not in so many words but a BMW person said this week's ago in an interview, think it was an MCN interview. What he couldn't say though was when the other R series bikes would go water cooled. Why are Bennett still calling it a 1250?

So, an HP2E with underseat tank of Markus, 20 liters fuel, light weight and quiet good dampers for non hard TT

A traditional morning news update. A video, in french, but auto subtitles work decent and it's nice to watch. Maybe any of french speaking people here can give us a TL;DR; version in english ?
