EJ, something Montauk pointed me to. March 16th, at our dealership, "Meet the new GS." Whether or not its part of the first delivery remains unanswered. I think some new owners will be on theirs by that time.

Pricing press release yesterday was a little confusing. We decoded it as best we could, but you may want to bring some paper and pencil with you when you go to the dealer.

I expect mine in SoCal within three weeks if not sooner. I still don't know colors or options but they're getting four units — a demo, a low and two "normals" — which I must think will be fully optioned. I'm hoping for a red one with or without wire wheels, I don't care. I must have everything else. I do get the first one. Can't wait. I think my neighbor's taking my current GS, if not it'll go on consignment asap.

Yeap, he sent me a PM about that as well. A friend on the list just checked with our dealer today and no news about delivery date/bike options, etc.

$100 refundable? not exactly. With sales of the old GS declining substantially this year as everyone waits for the new, I would guess that the last few months have been pretty poor for most of them.

Actually BMW sales increase by 2% in 2012 compared to 2011 sales. December 2012 saw a 43.3% increase in deliveries compared to December 2011, pretty impressive. The R1200GS was the most popular model still (this does not include the GSA). Granted these are world-wide figures, but the USA was the 2nd largest market outside of Germany.
